He was attending a picking machine. A boy passed and young Welsh called him to explain ie him the working of the machine. While they were in conversation, the machine revolv- ing caught the poor fellow by the hand and dragged it into the elbow, tearing and smash.- img it frightfully. Dr. Taylor was summoned, and found that it was necessary te amputate the arm ashort distance below the elbow.
