The old wharf is in great need of re- pairs as it is in many pla~ es in a very dilapidated condition and presents a dangerous appearance. The morning posts are too "few and far between besides some of them being very akaky. MCKENNA, of Bishpp St.. has been missing since Sunday. Shortly after breakfast she went out of; tho house without having made any pre- p-iration for leaving her home. Noth- ing was thought of the matter at the time, but as the hours passed and she fiiled lio return, her friends grew ans.- ious. Inquiries were made from house to house, but no one had seen anything of the missing woman. All seagch sub- sequently made in the city proved in ef- fectual. Hcr friends have now heard that she crossed to Southport in the 10.30 boat, but nothing further has been learned of tier whereabouts. Sue has relatives living at St. Marys Road. Lot 91, over thirty miles from Charlotte- town, but whetheror not she started for or reached there still remains a my stery. The unfortunate woman was at times thought that a sudden attack of this nature prompted her to waiider from home. Had she taken shelter in any of. the houses in the suburbs, it is probablel that word from her would have been received ere this.--Patriot. i l l somewhat weak in her mind it isl THE beautiful new organ built for St James’ Church by the Karn Organ and Piano Company, was played, in public for the-first time last night by Mr. S. N. Earle, who- played a varied programme of classical, modern and extempoiized music before a fairly large audience. The organ is a large and very hand- some instrument with tubular pneu- matic action, a large number of ' stops, and eminently good tone. The pro- gramme was calculated to display all the capabilities _of the new organ nr-d organist. and the favorable coininents heard as the audience dis- pt-rsed; were evidences that the recital was a distinct success. We are sorry that we have not space at our dispcsztl to comment fully upon the various numbers upon the programme and that we have not been able to obtain the opinion of responsible and capable critics as to the merits of the fine instruement; but we must not neglect to give full credit to the several vocalists’ who as- sisted Mr. Earle and 'who' without ex- ception sung in such away as fo delight the audience. Mr.Charles Earle’s rich voice was a revelation to his hearers.Miss Amy Earle sang in excellent voice and form, as did Mrs. Norton, who is de- serving of much commendation for so kindly taking the place of Miss Earle at the last moment. We hope to ‘be able in the near future to put: upon re cord in our columns the merits of the new organ in St. James’ church. as well as to give a detailed description ` of the renovations and repairs lately made in the church which is now one"of the best appointed in the province." W. M. S.-The service in the school- room of the First Methodist 'church this evening, will be of an especially inter- esting character. An address will be given by Rev. G. M.
