While Grant was holding the spotlight with his record-breaking ' performances, nevertheless there . were other features that stood out. ‘ Students staged a "sit-down" strike before a faculty race was staged . but they finally‘ had their way and saw Fr. Oswald Murphy race to. victory over Fr, Fred Cass and two '. other entrants who failed to “fin- ish." The other highlight came in a tug-of-war between the Faculty and Seniors. Winners over the Juniors in s. previous pull, the , Seniors met their “masters" when they tackled the Faculty team. ’ Bolsterm by the esence of "Tin " Matheson at anc or for them. e _ Faculty made short work of their opponents to accormuish the "coup" - cit the afternoon.
