Mr. Caron said it was not the inten- tion of the Government to reduce letter | postage frum three to two cents. _Hon Mr. Tupper said, in reply to # ques- tion, that suits had been instituted on be- half of certain Canadian fishermen who had paid license fees to the Newfoundland Government during the fishing season of 1890 and 1891, to procure a refund, and that the Government hoped to succeed. A number of cther questions of litttle genersl interest were asked, and replied to by members of the Government. Correspondence relating to the recent eonference between the Canadian Ministers and representatives of the United States Government was submitted. MURDER WILL OUP. is this Jack the Ripper? The police have been pursuing an inguiry into the disappearance of a woman and ber children who Shred on Rainhill, a part of Liverpool: The inquiry was started io connection with the arrest in Melbourne of &® man named Williams, charged with murdering a woman there. The police went to the house formerly occupied by the persons in question aad jifted the henthetens from its place and unearthed the bodies of the missiog woman and four children. The murderer used choloride of lime to destroy the bodies. The house in which the bodies were found was once occupied by Williams.
