THE Sir,—As the Cavada Temp-rance Act is no jopger im force here, the law pasred by our Local Legislature to regulate ; aud the sale of liquor again becomes operative, it would be well for the prera to discuss the merits of the “Peters Act” and see if some im- provement on it could not be dewised. I have not the time, the learning nor the inclination tu go into the matter, but have no doubt that if you opened your columns to a diseussion of the act many practical sugge ions would be made and mach good result. I would |e tosee an ardition to the act providing that no liquor be allowed to be sold within 400 feet of any church, “Salvation Army Barracks” or school.
