Died at Murray Harbor South, on Dec. 30th, of laryngitis, El zabeth M. F., be- l wed wife of Mr. Isaac R. Prowse, in the 29th year of her age Mrs. Prowse was the third diughter of Samuel and Jane Beck, of the above named plice. Thirteen years ago she became « member of the late Bible Christisn Church, under the ministry of the Rev. James H. Collins, and on Sept. lst, 1880, was united in marriage by the Rev. William Meddlind. She also became a member of the Womens’ Missionary So- ciety at the time of its organization, in 1888. The deceased was a true Christian, a devoted wife, and a faithiul mother. She had been ailing for two years, but was not contined to her bed until four days previous to her death. She leaves a hus- band, two sons—aged eight and six years— father, mother, two sisters and two brothers, besides « large circle of triends, both on the Island and in St. John’s, Nfll. The remains were interred on New Year's Day by the Rev. S. James, wden a large concourse of people attended to pay the last tribute of respect to one who was so generally esteemed and lamented.
