The convention of Liberal-Cuiiscn vatives held in this city yesterdoy pf. ternoon to nominate candidates to con- test the Third District of Queens ifounty at the forthcoming provincial election was largely attended. Ev. ery poll was well represented and the meeting was in every respect ii splen- did one. Before nominations were called for Mr. I-I. F. Feehan asked tho delegates present not to submit his iiume as li candidate, as it would -be impossible for him to give the necessary time to ilii- business of politics. The result of the meeting was the nomination of Mr. Leonard Wood, of Ropeton as Assemblyman. mid Mr. J. J. McDonald, merchant, of Grand Tra- cadie, as Councillor. The nomination of Mr. Wood was moved by Mr. Frank Driscoll of Mit. lierbert, seconded by Mr. James Lam- pbler, oi’ Pleasant Grove. Mr. MioDonald was nominated by .\ir. James Sniltli, Tracadle Cross, seconded by Mr. John Timmons, oi’ Mount Stewart. supported _by Mr. John M. McDon:ild,_of Blooming Point.. The result of the nomination was received with much enthusiasm, the choioeoi the convention being very popular. Premier Arseiiault. in a short but stirring address heartily congratulat- ed the electors upon their choice.
