Following the reading of the minutes of the last annual meet- ing by the secretary. the financial report was presented which show- ed receipts of 3117.87. disburse- ments S56.69, balance on hand 561.18. Satisfactory reports from the chairmen of the several commit- tees were received. A nominating committee brought in a slate of M1 rendered by Mr J. E. Dunning. Charlottetown. The hymns led by the choir were "Ye Gates Lift Up Your Heads" "The Church's One Foundation" and "Jesus Shall Reign." Rev. Mr. Campbell ch e as his text Zechariah 2:2. "Th said !. whither goes thou? Corresponden .. was read, and an invitation from the ladies in Charlottetown was acknowledged to use the ice in the Charlotte- town club on an afternoon to be arranged later. The retiring president. Mrs. J. S. DesRoches, presented a report of the past sason's activities. the full text of which appears below. Following a brief discussion it was decided to hold regular meet- ings on the first Monday of each month. The club fees were set at G500 for active members. and 31.00 for associate members. It was also decided that the club would sponsorga pantry sale at I later date. PRESIDENT'S REPORT The Montagua ladies curling club was organized at a meeting called for the purpose in the Montague Curling Club on Jan. 3. 1952. with 14 ladies present. I am pleased to report that your club had a very successful year. We sent two curling teams in February to Charlottetown and they gave a good account of themselves. We also sent two teams to Summersidc. who played very well. We had as our guests two able teams of lady curlers from Charlottetown and one of our teams won from their better team. When you consider that we were all new curlers, this is a feat worth recording. As it mat- ter of fact. all our curling tcams did well against cxpc-ricnced' cur- lers. Your club put on a dinner for the Charlottetown curlers at the Poole Hotel. made available to your club ihroulzh the kindness of Mrs. lnman. All those present enjoyed the sociability and the dinner. I should like to thank the Char- loitelown and Summerside ludy curlers for their kind invitation on several occasions to visit their club room und to use their facili- ties for our enjoyment and en- tertalnment.
