The eighbors work- ed hurriedly in trying to save the furniture and succeeded in saving much of what was down stairs but the contents of the pantry and also all up stairs including al their clothing, was destroyed. Since the fire the neighbors gathered and cut the lumber for another house which goes to show the gen- erosity of the people. The loss is about $1,500 partially covered by insurance.
