There were not many people around at the time, but a hue and cry was raised at once. Word was sent to Mr. McMahon, superintendent of the rescue station at Dominion No. 2 and he made all haste to get to the scene with the pulmotor, the new mechanical device used to induce the respiratory action upon the lungs, but after wonking with the instrurment for some time Mr. McMahon had to give up the at- tempt at resuscitation.
