The latter called him his living alarm clock. Then came the morning when there was no light thump oi a little Squirrel landing on the bed. In iact, there was no little Squirrel. He wasn't in his box. He wasn't to be Iound. Farmer Browtft boy looked under, behind and in every- thing where his pet might be hid- ing. Finally he noticed that the window screen was up just a llltle. it had been raised the day beiore and not pulled quitedown again. it didn't seem possible that Runty could have squeezed out beneath it, but Farmer Brown's boy knew that he had. "He's gone, and probably I'll never see him again," said Farmer Brown's boy mourniuliy. "I'm sorry, yet I'm sort oi.’ glad, too. Oi course, he belongs in the Green Forest.
