the fifty-fourth year oi her age leav-
ing to gnourn e. sorrowirig husband,
two soul. end iour daughters. Mrs.
Carter had not been in good health
lor some time and on the day of her
death took suddenly very ill ol acute
hesrr. failure. Her doctor was called
at once hy telephone and all that
could be done by medical aid and lov-
ing friends failed to give relief. She
gradually sank until the Death Angel
summoned her saying, _-“Thou hast
beenlaithful over a (ew things, I will
make thee ruler over many things,

Lord.” Her family have sustained a
serious loss hy, the demise of one
who was .always so kind, thoughtiul
and aflectionate. Her many friends

Michael Doyle, son ot Thomas
Doyle, North Rustico, had a narrow
escape from death on Sunday night
last while returning home about ten
o'clock with his young stead and
sleigh. The night was hazy and
while' taking the summer _road around
Rustico Cape the horse, sleigh and
driver, went over the bank and drop-
ped fully 45 feet into a snow bank."
The sleigh was totally wrecked, Mr.
Doyle escaped with a slight cut on the
head and the horse was unlnjured.
Mr. Doyle was able, alter taking his
hearings, to lead the horse around
the shore. It was one of those mir-
aculous escapes for which there is no
accounting.
