Cameron had passed the qualifying examination for applicants for the'Rhodne Scholarship. This means he is now eligible to compete with the other applicants from this Province who are exempted by Oxford hecause of their graduation from Canadian Universities siiiilstnd with Oxford. Two students not so exempted took the exams. in April, with the result as above. It is under- stood there are three other applicants. The selection irom these four will he made in a few days by the local com- mittee: Chief Justice Sullivan, Dr. Anderson and the Lieutenant Governor. Irv all probability the time will not be long before another Presbyterian pulpit in this city will be vacant. Not many months ago St' Andrew’s pulpit was made vacant by the retirement oi Rev. Mr- MaoNelll; then St. Dlvld's by the resigns- tion of Dr. Morison, and now the same thing is likely to happen to Sr. Stephen`s by the appointment of Rev. Dr. Fraser to the stafl’ of the Prssby terian College, Montreal. No mention oi Dr, Frsser`s appointment was made in the church yesterday, but it is anticipated that he will resign as pastor of the church in the near future. Dr. Fraser is a man of high attalnments and has made many friends who will be sorry to lose him. H s record as a preacher as well as a student is most creditable, and his appointment was heartily endorsed by the members of the Assembly.-St. John Sun. . ONE of the prettiest of the early June weddings was solemnised at the residence of Daniel E. and Mrs. McKenzie, 56 Clay- ton Sr., "Malden, Mass., when Mr. McKenzie’s sister, Margaret Mc- Kenzie and Donald K. Mc- Lennan of Quincy, Mass., were married by Rev. Mr. Shannon of the Methodist Church of Malden. The bridesmaid was Miss Catherine G. McLennan, cousin of the bride, while the groom was supported by Isaac McLennan. The bride was handsomely gowned in white vuile, with lace and medallion trimmings and carried bridal roses. The brldesmald‘s dress was of pale blue muslin with lace and ribbon trimmings. Following the ceremony a reception was held attended by sevent, - live guests. Refreshments were served by Mrs. R. A. Fisher, Mrs. L. L. Barrister, Mrs. W. K. Brown, sisters of the bride, also her cousins Misses. Florence May, S-idle and Mable McLennan. Mr. and Mrs. McLennan were very generously re- membered by their friends, as indicated by the great variety of handsome and valuable presents. The bride and groom are well known throughout the Island, the bride being the youngest daughter oi Mrs. Jannstt McKenzie, formerly post mistress of Rose Valley. but now of Mal den, Mars. The groom is a son of Mur» dock McLennan of Hansville, P. E. I. t I / » ' you | . W ELL-MADE ' I 1 |‘ Need a wrapper ?
