David Millar McGowan, B.A., retired minister, passed away on Sunday morning, August 7th. at the Prince County Hospital. Summerside, in his eighty-fourth year. Mr. McGowan was a native of Tobermore, County Derry, North- ern Ireland and was educated at the Colerains Academical Institu- i lion, Queen's College and the Presbyterian College, Belfast. He was ordained in 189G in Kilkina- murrcy Congregation, County Down, The western provinces of Can- ada needed men and-he emigrated to Saskatchewan in 1907. in the mission fields of the west and in the Marltimcs, Mr. McGowan made full proof of his work in the R057 pel ministry and retired in 1935. He was a cluntry minister and took no part in the work of the church courts, but ha dischsrzefi his ministerial duties faithfully. He was much given to hospitality and leaves behind many friends both lay and clerical. - _ He was married twice. his first wife died in Purdue, Saslc, and left two children. s boy and a girl. His son predeceased him and his daughter, Mrs. George Sharp. East Birleford, P.
