MOFFAT’S LIFE PILLS PHG@:NIX EITTERS fEN\HESE Medicines have now been before the public for a period of THIRTY YEARS, ang during that time have maintained a bigh character in almost every part of the globe for their extragr. dinary and immediate power of restoring perfees health to porsens suffering under nearly every king of disease to which the hamen frame is liable, IN MANY THOUSANDS of certificated instances, they bave even rescued suf. ferers from the very verge of an untimely grave, after all the deceptive nostrums of the day bad ut- terly failed; and to many thousands they bave permanently secured that uniform enjoyment of health, without whieb life iteelf is but a partial bless~ ing. So great, indecd, bas tneir efficacy invariably and infallibably proved ibat it has appeared scarcely less than wiraculous to those who were acquainted with the beautifully philosophical principles upon which they are compounded, and upon which they consequently act. 1t was to their manifost and sep- sible action in purifying the springs and channels of life, and indulging them with renewed tone and vigor, that they were indebted tor their name. Unlike the host of pernicious quackeries which boart of vegetabie ingredients, the LIFE MEDI- CINES are purely and solely vegetable; and contain neither Mercury nor Antimony nor Arsenic nor any other mineral, in any form whatever. They ure en- tirely composed of extracts from rare and powerfal plants, the virtues of which, though lung known to several Lodian tribes, and recently tv some eminent pbarmacentical chemists, are altogether unknown to the ignoraut pretenders to medical science ; aud were never before administered in a¢ bappily efficacious a combination. The first operation is to loosen from the coatsof the stomach and bowels the variousimpurities and crudi- ties constantly settling round them; and to rewove the hardened faces whwh collect in the convolu- tions of the smailintestines. Other medicines only partially cleanse these, and leave such collected masses behind as to produce habitual Costiveness with ajl its train of evils, or sudden Diarrhea with its imminen dangers. This fact is well-known tw allregular auatomists who examine the huaan bowels after death; and hence theuprejudices of these well informed men against the quack medi- sinesof the age. The second effect of the VEGK- fABLE LIFE MEDICINES is to cleanse the kid- ueys and the bladder; end, by this means, the liver and lungs, the healthful action of which entirely depends upon the regularity of the urinary organs. The blood, which takes its red color from the agency’ of the liver and lunge, belcre it passes into the berrt, being thus purified by them, and nourished vy food coming from a clean stomach, cuurses freely through the veins, renews every part of the system, tod triumphantly mounts the banner of beaith ip the blooming cheek. The following are amcong the distressing variety of human diseasesin which the VEGETABLE LIFE MEDICINES are well known to be infallible. ~ DYSPEPSIA, by thoroughly cleansing the first and second stomachs, and creating a flow of pur. healthy bile, instead of the stale and acrid kind, Flatulency, Loss of Appetite, Heartburn, Headache, Restlessness, IU-Temper, Langour, and Melancholy, which are the general symptoms of Dyspepsia, will vanish, as & natural Consequence of its cure. COSTIVENESS, by cleansing the whole length of the intestines with a solventprocees, and without vio~ lence: all violent purges leave the bowols custive within two days. | DLARRH@A and CHOLERA, by removing the | sharp acrid fluids by which these complaints are oc- casioned, and by promoting the lubricative secretion of the mucuous membrane. FEVERS of all kinds, by restoring the blood to a regular circulation, through the process of perspi- ration in such cases, and the thorough solution of all intestinal obstruction in others. The Lire Mepwives have been known to cure Rkeumatisem permanently in three weeks, and Gout in half that time, by removing local inflammation from the muscles and ligameuts of the joints. Dropsies of all kinds, by freeing and strengthen- ing the kidneys and bladder; they operate most de- lightfully on these important organs, and hence they have ever been found a certain remedy for the worst cases of Gravel. Also Worms, by dislodging from the turnings of the bowels the slimy matter tu which these creatures adhere. Asthma and Consumption, by relieving the air vessels of the lungs from the mueous which even slight colds will occasion, and which, if not removed, becomes hardened, and produces those dreadful dis- eases. Scurvy, Ulcers and Inveterate Sores, by the perfect purity which these LIFE MEDICINES give to the blood, and all the bumors. Scorbutic Eruptions and Bad Complexions, by their alternative effect upon the fluids that feed the skin, and the morbid state of which vccasions ail erup- tive cowplaints, sallow, cloudy, and other disagree- able complexions. The use of these Pills for a very short time wild effect an entire cure of Salt Rheum, and a striking improvement in the clearness of the Skin. Common Colds and Influenza will always be cured by one dose, or by two even in the worst Cases. PILES. As a remedy for this most distressing and obstinate malady, the VEGETABLE LIFE ME- DICINES deserve a distinct and emphatic recom. mendation. It is well-known to hundreds in this city, that the former proprietor of these valuable Medicines was himself afflicted with thie complaint fur upwards of THIRTY-FIVE YEARS, and that he tried in vain every remedy prescribed within the whole compass of the Materia Medica. He, however, at length iried the Medicine which is now offered to the public, and he was cured in a very short tiwe, after his recovery had been pronounced not only impro- bable, but absolutely impossible, by eny huwan means, FEVER AND AGUE.,. For this scourge of the western country these Me- years sold about 50 doz. of the above SCYTHES, | dicines will be fuund a safe, speedy, aud certain re~ and therefore ean, with confidence, recommend | medy. them to the public as being a genuive article.
