"The Cadre, Aprils, 1975,,_page._.4_ ' " f A , mics o'ur' Bag. Continued sity, especially ours is to be run correctly. Either all or none have a holiday on future situations such as this. I thank you for your time and also the space in this paper. YourS*in Justification; Mary J. Bradly Dear Memorial Hall Residents - In the April 1 issue of the Cadre, you quoted Jim Griffith as saying, "these sick animals will be brought before me, punished and disgraced before any improv- ements will be made on Memo— rial". Jim Griffith did not say‘this. Sincerely, James F, Griffith ‘ ' Director of Student Services P.S. If you would like to discuss the issue, you might start by using your name and contacting me. My office is lst Main Building or phone 892-4121 Ext 147 Dear Mr. Campbell: 'Mr. President, you and your petty politics have finally reached your limit. Last night at approximately 10:00 o'clock p.m., when Doug Smith decided that the thirty people waiting outside the door should be let into the Pig 'n Whistle, he made several phone calls, then informed the person in charge that these people were to be let in knowing full well that the safe limit would _be passed. ’ I let Mr. Smith know that he would_have to be responsible for this proce— dure at’which he acknowledged the fact. The point I would . like to make is that there - has not been one person hired this year Who has been allowed to do his job without constant meddling from the assholes in.pffice! This, in case you are not aware, is THE reason why things have been in such poor shape this year. I feel that you were ELECTED in the annual farce called called student union elect— ions; while all committee heads and other personal were HIRED!!!!! I was hired as Chief of Campus Police last March, (1974), and since I have' not been fired or replaced, I feel that I have been doing a sufficent job. Therefore, I feel that my Judgement must be considered worthwhile on matters conc- erning the Barn and Pig 'n Whistles, since I have been involved in these matters for the past two years. It was my understanding that at any event involvingv Campus Police, I, as chief, was in charge. However, last night proved me wrong ;...again!!!!!! This episode was the FINAL time I will be stepped on. For the past year, I have been made to look like the fool, a crook, the most_evil person on campus, and the most incomp- ' etent employee of the Student Union. This has all been done at my expense to \‘make you and your assinine ideology look good. a You can stick your U.P.E.I.' .collage’of elected idiots ~up your‘F} 11" I have been stepped on for the last time. It is about time you took a good hard- look at your past year ' "in office" OBJECTIVELY, then place the blame where it rightfully belongs. That is, in the office of the Head Elected Asshole.... - the President of the Student Union!!!!!!!! . Consider this my official resignation., ' Sincerely, Rennie Kermath, Former Chief of Campus Police, U.P.E.I. ‘Dear Rennie This will akndwledge receipt of your letter of resignation which is accept- ed with regret. On behalf of the Executive I must point out to you ’ that the responsibility for conducting Student Union affairs rests with us, and any instructions which you received regarding limits of attendance on affairs in the Barn came from us; through‘the’Comptroller, to yourself. As you yourself say, this was placed at; 400. On the night of April 3 when a person, outside the Executive,.informed you that this limit should be iexceeded, the Comptroller, who has the Barn as his responsibility, reiterated our ruling and told you that the limit was 400. 1 When you were again informed by a student, outside the Executive, that this was ’ not so, you, on your own initiative, dedided to let more students into the Barn. Today, in_your letter you alledge that“this was our 1 responsibility. I personally had no knowledge of this incident until you passed in your letter. I can see no reason for your abuse I in as much as our limit of 400 persons was not recinded and if you followed the instructions of an outside person it is certai- nly not the fault of this ' executive. ‘ Sincerely,_ Gordon Campbell President U.P.E.I.S.U. Dear Professor Gool: The Senate Research Committee has considered .your research-proposal on "The Politics of Martime -Art". The Committee has rejected the application as presented and wishes to bring the following points to your attention: (a) The project was only vaguely defined. v (b) The parameters of study must be more clearly defined (c) The objectives of the research must be more clearly specified. 1 (d) The process of research ‘_must-be’delineated (e) The Committee found that it could not fund this project at a level anywhere near the requested level. (f) The possibility that the project would require funding at high leVels for five.years was a concern to the Committee. I ' I hope that these comments will be helpful to you in the writing of future appli- ' cations to the Senate Resea- ‘ rch Committee. flours sincerly, L.F. Loucks, Chairman Senate Research Committee -Dear Professor Loucks Thank you for your letter of 26th March. It is not always that one receiVES enchanting pomposity. You have the gift. Your points (a),(b), and ‘(c) all mean the same thing. You tell me to be clear three times: quite obviously you are a master of "defini- tion" the ability "to delin- eate parameters" tersely. I like that in a man. It \shows promise. ,7 I like\also your use of the adverbs "only" and I "vaguely" together. Another- instance of terse writing.’ 1 L-‘F: y; ’n V
