NOVEMBER 7. 1953 IN -MEMORIAM MRS. JOHN FERGUBON The sudden death of Mrs. John T. Ferguson occurred Oct. is at lhe home of Mr. and Mrs. Wylie Gibson. Marilhfleld. During her married life she and her his husband "John T." had used. their home for all activities both church andcommunity wel- I2ll'C- Nico enthusiasm and ability as a leader were early recognized. Mu, Ferguson was the daughter of the late William Irving and Elizabeth Stewart 'I'hompson, Dun- staffmgie. A member of the church from her youth. she was organist for many years of the Marshtflcld Presbyterian Church and later rarely missed her place in the choir of Central United Church. she was a life member of the Wo- man's Missionary Society and was deeply interested in the Y.P.U. and other church activities. She had SIM) acted as President ml the Women's Institute in her community. Her husband and daughter Mary predeceased her age years previously. She leaves yo mourn one sister, Mrs. Geo. Harper, Charlottetown, and many nieces and nephews. Her funeral service which was I!Cld on Oct. 20 to Central United) Church was largely attended and ms conducted by the minister Rev. J. M. Sproule, assisted by Rev. L. 1iac.Nau.ghton of Marshficlcl Pres- byterian Ohurch. Mr. Bproule in his address spoke of the character and deeds oi the deceased. Mrs. N. D. MacLean sweetly sang "The Old Rugged Cross". during the service. The "Twenty- Thlrd Psalm” and "Abide With Me" were the hymns chosen. Many beautiful floral tributes testified to the esteem in which the deceased was held. Six nephews acted as pail bear- rrs as she was laid to rest in the family plot in the church ceme- tery, Col. Fred 1. Andrew, Major Wallsce Anadtrew. Messrs. W. Irving, John R. Loren W. and Wilfred E. Thompson. IN MEMORIAM MRS. JAMES J. MIcDONALD As the darkness of night gave of Charlottetown. whose sudden Dialing four years ago was a great shock to her mother. Her home in Boston was termin- ated after a. few years by the ill health of Mr. Romkey when they returned to his former home in Nova Scotin. until his death a few months later. With her daughter she returned to her old home at Long Creek. " In 1910 she married James Mac- Donald of Nine Mile Creek and in this district she spent the fol- lowing 40 years until ill health re- quired them to sell their farm. They moved to Long Creek in 1949 and when Mr. MacDonald died two years ago, his wife moved in with their only son. Warren who is left to mourn the passing ofaloved mother. The grandchildren are James and Constance MacDonald; (Doris) Mrs. C. Gallant, Picton, Ont.; (Joyce) Mrs. G. MacF'adyen, Au- gustine Cove; Shirley, Pcrc and David Rodd of Charlottetown also one sister. (Leah), Mrs. Samuel Good, of West Newbury, Mass.; and one brother, Bert of Prince Rupert. British Columbia. The funeral was held on Wednes- day afternoon with a short service at the home followed by service in the Long Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Harry Barbour was in charge of the service and Rev. Donald Nicholson assisting. Rev. Mr. Barbour brought the ines- sage from John 14 "In My Father's House Are Many Mansions, I Go To Prepare A Place For You." A favorite hymn of Mrs. MacDon- nltl, ”I'rust and Obey" was rend- ered by a grantlniece. Miss Shirley MacDonald. Other hymns sung were "Abide With Me” and ”Thc Lord's My Shepherd." MacDonald, Samuel MacDougnIl, Wesley MacEechern and Daniel Macbougali.
