Mirrors Used to l Mirrors have long since ceased to be used simply as looking glasses in which to behold ones image. Their reflecting surfaces have been found to add immeasur- ably to the feeling oi space light and color in any interior in which the value of other furnishings, for the reflection of an object is often more beautiful than the thing lt- self. A mirror may be so hung as in reflect a bit. of the outdoor land- scape, and in this sense bezome a. picture. It may be used to reflect color. It may be used to catch daylight, and thus brighten a part oi a room that would otherwise be lifeless, or it may serve to produce l; brilliant reduplication oi artificial lights. In the average homo there is hardly a room that cannot be im- proved by the use oi at least one mirror in the right place, and many an interesting wall space may thus be invested with charac- ter and charm. Even s. small room will acquire an appearance of spaclousncs ii a. mirror is placed at one end or Op- posite the entrance into another room, and one oi correct propor- tions, when hung between two win- dows at the end of a narrow room, will convert an uninteresting apart- ment into one having the indefin- able charm oi "style."
