International Study and Travel Here’s a reminder of International programs promoted at Student Services. U.P.E.I. Student Exchanges U.P.E.I. has exchange agreements with five universities: University of South Florida (Tampa, Florida), Muskingum College (New Concord, Ohio), Eastern New Mexico University (Portales, New Mexico), Dundee University (Dundee, Scotland), and Deakin University (Geelong, Australia). To participate in an exchange, a student must have a minimum of a 70% average in five courses. As an exchange student, you would pay regular U.P.E.I. tuition (5 courses) and residence (double room, 19 meal plan) fees. You would still be eligible for any U.P.E.I. scholarships, student loans and bursaries. There is a $100.00 placement fee, but your only extra major expense would be transportation costs. Don’t miss your chance at a great program. Canada World Youth CWY is an International Youth Exchange Program which sends volunteers to developing countries. If you are between 17-20, you are eligible for this program. Exchanges last approximately 7 months of which half is spent in Canada and half in the exchange country. Fodr those of you who are 21-25 years of age, CWY offers a Work Partner Program. After a few weeks of preparation, groups of Canadian volunteers will leave for a six-month stay in a developing country where they will be joined by local volunteers and work on projects selected by the partner country. Partnership for Service Learning In this program students study abroad while participating in voluntary organizations. Students study the history, culture, language, literature, political science and economics of the host culture. Each student | is also placed as a volunteer in a community agency serving the people of that culture through such activities as teaching, health care, and development projects.
