JOHN HORTON 'I‘htrr: passed peacefully away at. his home in Johnston's River on March 30th, 1949, John Horton, in his ninetieth year. He was the eldest son in a fam- ily of fourteen children born to the late Peter Horton and his wife, fortnerly Mary Robertson of Mt. Albion. There are three sur- viving members of this family: Alexander of Bethel; Benjamin of Mt. Albion, and Luke of Char- lottetown. The deceased, after moving from Ml. Albion to Johnston's River about. sixty years ago, fanmed and operated a saw mill until shortly before his death. He was a. re- spected member of the community and his neighbors knew him as a quiet, steady-working man, with a sincere regard for honesty. which he practised in all his dealings. He leaves to mourn his passing, his sorrdwing wife, formerly Mary Anne Sealey oi Mt. Albion; also two sons, William of Bunbury and John S., of Bethel. Two daughters predeceased him some years ago. The funeral was held on April 1st. from the home of his son Wil- liam ix» Bunbury. A large crowd came to pay their last respects despite adverse travelling condit- ions.
