Its not revolutionary or even original, but the album has achieved its goal of bringing together a mosh album. Not an album for lovers of modern music, it seems to miss the fact that music has changed and not many people care about its featured bands anymore. Aucoin Christmas At Home (7) EMI Beautiful harmonies, lovely music...and Bruce Guthro. Well, two out of three isn’t bad. There | are a lot of great Christ- mas tunes here from the likes of Rita MacNeil, Damhnait Doyle, Susan Aglukark and the To- ronto Children’s Chorus. The highlights are Bruce Cockburn with the southern spiritual “Mary Had A Baby”’and Kim Stockwood crooning “It’s A Marshmellow World.” > ARGCONRO, 2797 mmf ST. Jive Kings continued from page 14 where they applied for an award. Unfortu- nately, Spoon For A Knife was released too late for them to get a showcase, but they still plan to be in attendance. Another Jive Kings CD could be in the works as early as next year, and although the band is presently not writing music there is specula- tion about rushing a Christmas CD to the stores. With airplay on both Magic93 and CBC radio, the Jive Kings are expanding quickly and now have CD’s as far away as Halifax. The band itself is strongly tied to Prince Edward Island, and seven of the eight members have gone through the UPEI music program. Two of the members are still attending the university. oO continued from page 14 heard in a long time and Brosnan is filling the role quite well. The Bond girls (Sophie Marceau and Denise Richards) are hot as usual, but Richards does not make the most convincing nuclear physicist. It is not one of the best Bond films, but itisa - decent entertainment all the same. oO | ea > mmol &
