and served out her term, performing
all the duties of the office, including
that of auctioneer.
Since these earlier days Miss Reel
has taken the stump in several pre-
sidental campaigns and given a good
account of herself.” She has succeeded
in all her undertakings through ‘the

mons today on a bill making some
minor amendments to the post ofiicc

erson, of Halton, that the drop let-
ter rate in villages and small towns

Mr. Lemieux pointed out 'thot the
department could hardly accept at

Mr. Hendersoii's amendment would

paper rates it was the lowest in the
world.
The number of post ofllces in the
Dominion had increased by thirty-
seven per cent. in fourteen years; the
money order ofllces by over twenty-
ilve per cent., and ,the mail service
by over fifty per cent. In 1896 the
whole number ol post ofilces between
Lake Superior and the Rockies was
786; now it was 699 in Manitoba, 695
‘fi Alberta, 982 in Saskatchewan and
twenty in the Yukon. ,
