engaged harvesting and the sound of
binders may be heard from early morn
till dewy eve. The wheat crop owing

bell’s_white chaff, that is chaff indeed.
-Potatoes and vegetables bespeak an
exuberant yield.-Our carriage builder,
Mr. James Kelley, is doing quita a
lively business this season. His make

the west.-Our school was visited a`
few days ago by Mr. Alfred L. Adams,
an ex-teacher, who remarked that the
school was in a very progressive state.
Mr. Adams has left the profession. Pur-
posing in the near future to start a
jewelry store at O’Learv. believing itl
to be more remunerative than teaching.
THERE is no more pleasant outing for
tourists and c-ity people than a day in
the country, and the P. E. I. Railway
is an excellent means of transit. Satur-
day excursion tickets at one single first-_
class fare for the return trip, are issued
to any point on the Railway good to re-
turn either Saturday 0.' Mondav. For
instance. one or more persons, desiring
to spend Saturday at Hunter Biver,
could proceed thither by the morning
ti-gin, gc fishing, shooting, roaming
about the fields or woods. and arrive
home by the evening train, and the re-
turn fare would be but sixfy cents.
Those having less time at their dis-
posal could go, out a :hotter distance,
by the eastern train at 3 p. m. or the
western train at 4.10 p. ni.. arriving
est. Others who preferred to be
away in the forenocn, could go out by
the eastern train at 7 15 a. rn. or the
