Wool, l Conservation Of Gas In Turner Valley Fields (Canadian -Press) CALGARY, Alta., July 6.-Con- servatiorl of gas went into effect in Turner Valley today as Alberta government's conservat.ion_ board rigidly enforced its ultimatum that the wells must be closed in. Form- ed to prevent gas wastnge in the valley with a view to prolonging the fields life, the board today re- ported all operators had acceded to its orders. ' Closing-in of the wells is being done so the board can ascertain the gas pressure at each well. This will enable it to allot a fair production figure for each operator when the tests are completed. It is planned to reduce gas production to less than 200,000,000 cubic feet daily with a drastic reduction in Naphtha production also. The tests are being accomplished after a great struggle in and out of the courts. Independent operators objected to basing the gas produc- tion on the flow of naphtha on the ground that a reduction in naphtha would make operators grofitless and put some companies out of business. Spooner Oils Ltd., sought a permanent injunction to restrain -the board fiom anfonlq all vation but _tha Alberta D31 Court dismissed iid HWUNWIB The company is continuing it fight and has given notice dx peal.
