A Geop Meve.—The bicycle clubs of Charlottetown are about to build a quarter mile track, the prospectus for which is now being made reaiv. The track and grounds will be for bicycling, foot racing, pole vaulting, foot ball, cricket, tennie and all eports of a similar nature. It ie thought that the sum required “ill be $2500, or $3008, to be subscribed in shares of $10 each. The idea ia a good one, and we hope to see it consummated very soon. Tue Comine Arrraction.—Of the three plays to be presented by the Harkins Company at tbe Opera House commencing with the performance on Thursday evening it is hard to sav which will prove the more interesting. All are plays which have made both fame und fortune for their managers and authors during the past season, In “Brother for Brother” the story is one that appealsto the heart, the sense ef honor, the parental love, the hope and love of justice—and from beginning to end the audience is held spetlbound hy the deep interest and tirgling excitement forced upon them at the rise of the curtain and continued till the close of the last act. The company is said to be the best that Mr. Harkins has ever bronght to the Provinces during his twenty years exper ierce. 10 cents will be charged to cover expenses, | AT THE KINVERGARTEN HALL. —_— Miss McLean’s musical recital at the Kindergarten Hall last evening was a uecided success, There was a very fair audience all of whom seemed well satisfied with the eveoing’s entertainment. Tue stage was nicely decorated with flowers, ferns, etc. The Rev. D. Sutherland pre sided. Mies oicLean is to be congratulu- ted on the success of this her first recital, for her pupils, one and all, showed re- markable skill. The selections, some of which were vere very difficult, were all from the best authors. Asa change from the pia: oforte part of the programme Mise McDonald’s and Miss Kathleen Fitzgerald’s readings were very much appreciated. Major Galbraith played ® cornet solo in his usual gocd style. Toe vocal soloes by Mrs. Byrne, Mre. EK. H. Norton and Mrs, Hodgson were well rendered. The violin so'o by Mr. Jam. 8 Hynd.nan semed to be the favourite selection on the programme.
