The daily doubld on Jennie Kal- .rnuck and Feather Duster paid 371.00 and the quinella on Prince Budlong and Dale 3. returned ' l18.70. ' Lorne Ieteher with three wins to his credit was the leading driv- ar. Letcher won twice with Jennie Kalmuck and again with Mighty Deb as he got the Deb mare away to her first good race of the sea- non. Letcher took Jennie Kolmuck up lrom fifth position at the three- quarter pole to win the sixth dash 'm a thrilling battle with Peggy Ellis. Harold Stead. drivlrld P688! mils. also made his move at the three quarter mark. The race was the most exciting of the evening. Seven of the eight starters were bunched together at the three quarter mark with Peggy Ellis and Jennie Kalmuclr moving up along the outside. Peggy Ellis shot into the lead on the upper turn but Jennie Kal- muck moved up in the stretch to win by half a length in a driving finish. Bud's Echo and Peggy Ellis pro- vided most of the opposition for Jennie in the second dash. Bud's Echo went into the lead on the first turn and led to the stretch only to be nosed out by the Kal- aiuck more at the wire. Abner Mccraw had little trou- ble in winning the first and fifth- dashes. He paced under the wire a good two lengths out front in the first dash with sister Verna, who moved up from last position. finishing second. Carl Frisco set the race in both the first and fifth dnshes before giving way to Abner Mcciraw at the three quarter mark. Sister .. Verna. was second by a length and a half in the fifth race. Feather Duster, Chet Lynn Clev- er and Mary Merk battled for leadership during most of the third d-ash. Feather Duster went into an early lead and remained out front until the upper turn when Mary .Merk moved to the top. However Marry Monk broke at the tum onto the stretch and Feather Duster. relned by Col. Dan, trotted down the stretch a length ahead of Ohet byn Clever. Waymark, driven by Don lea- msn. fell during this race. throw- ing driver Seaman heavily to the track. The mishap occurred at the lower turn.
