PROVINCIAL PARKS MARSHLAND ENCOUNTERS Marshland Encounters is a nature hike with a difference! Offered each Sunday afternoon during the summer months at Brudenell River Provincial Park, this program takes participants into the heart of the park's saltwater marsh where they encounter some rather humorous characters, human and otherwise. Devised last year by the park's program staff to be both enter- taining and informative, the program has already become the most successful, in terms of participation, naturalist program offered by the Provincial Park system. Participants discover the history, ecology, botany and agriculture of the marsh through a series of arranged I . scenes as they follow a trail through the marsh. "We are adding a floating bridge to the trail this year and several new scenes to the program," said Jane Wilson, program supervisor at the park. "These changes will make the program even more interesting and hopefully provide for an entertaining natural history event." Marshland Encounters is conducted each Sunday at 3:00 from late June to early September and takes about 1% hours. There is no fee ‘and participants should bring appropriate footwear. _ 18 - E O -Naturally Entertaining. mm -
