The College boys in their white sweaters with the emblematic crest presented a very pleasing ap- pearance, while the "imperlals" in their dark red uniforms looked equal- ly as good. From the moment of starting until the end of the game the fans were treated to some genuine clean hockey. It speaks well for both teams that very few penalties were handed out, abd those being for only minor offenc- es. After about ilve minutes of hard playing on the part of both teams, the forward lino of the home team on a pretty piece of combination succeeded in passing the strong defense of the Collegians, and placing the rubber in ‘the net. For the next few minutes the play was mostly in the Collegians ter- ritory nnd the Montague boys were successful in adding another goal to their score. This stirred the College boys to action and for some time the Montague goal tender was kept busy repelliug what looked to bc sure shots. before half time the Collcgians’ cover point in an excellent run the full length of tho ice scored goal number one for ills tealn. During the second half the play was much faster. The College boys of the- forward liuc made many attempts at combination, but were unable to get through the strong defense of the imperials. ’i`he latter did not try much combination. but confined themselves to individual work which seems to be the better in that rink. The only goal scored this half was thnt by the Imperials from almost _centre ice. Thus the game ended 3--1 in favor of the home team. Dr. Taylor refereed the game in u. very eillcient and satisfactory man- ner. A return match will be play- 'ed in the near future in Charlottetown where the Collegians will probably re- verse the score of this gamer The College boys are very enthusiastic ov- er their trip und the way in which the good people of nontague enter- tained them. liiilllli il Plliilll An interesting series of races took place on the Piuette River ice on Sat- urday, lllth lust.
