Several of the most intelligent young men of Milk View and vicinity aessmbled together to diseuss the propriety of organ- izmg @ literary eociety, which, while it would help to pass)away the long winter evenings in a pleasing and enjoyable man- ner, would tend also to their mutual in- struction. The meeting was opened by the appointment of John A.
