A very interesting agricultural
meeting was held recently on the
farm of John Hawkins, Guernsey
Cove. Mr. Robertson, Sup't of the
experimental farm, Nova Scotia.,ga.ve
an address on soil cultivation, rota-
tion of crops and stock raisings. He
also gave some practical lessons on
the judging of dairy cattle and
horses. Lively interest was manifes-
tedv by those present and many ques-
tions were asked Mr. Robertson which
he answered satisfactorily. All pres-
ent felt well repaid for attending even
the old farmers realizing they can
learn something yet. At the close a
vote of thanks was tendered Mr. Rob-
ertson and one also wss given Hon.
Mr. McKinnon, Commissioner of Ag-
riculture, who was present.
At a meeting of the Prudential In-
surance Co., held in the Lawrence of-
fice' on Friday, July 12th, Louis Cos-
tello. formerly of Bonweli, P. E. I.,
was the -winner of the first prize for
Haverhill, while W. VR. McKinnon of
Lawrence and formerly of George-
WWII. bl`0UZht the first prize to the
Lawrence oillce. The prizes, which
included two highly valued fountain
pens, were presented by Supt, W, S,
Lazarus, after which the superintend-
ent Dassed a. few touching remarks
congratulating all his men on their
past half-year's work. There were
about forty, including assistant super-
intendents and agents present, and all
assured the superintendent that they
would make the next half-year one of
the most successful ever known in the
Lawrence district. Success to Cost¢l_
lo and McKinnon, former liuvincial-
ists.
Wednesday afternoon, a very happy
marriage was celebrated in Christ
Church,, Windsor. between George
trude Stubbs Bingay. third daughte
Martell olflciated. The church wa
sweet in her costume of ivory satin
Her bouquet was of white roses an

net and earl trimmin nd wore
which was tastefully decorated. Mr.

centre, a little Cupid beneath, while
from the top of the hell to the table

right merry send off as they departed
on the Midland train for P.E. Island,

route, and alter spending a few days
at Charlottetown and Summerside
will return via' Sydney, and tske a

Lakes. They will also visit Maitland,
the grrom’s native village, When
they return they will go to Panuke,
and spend a part of their honeymoon

Miss Camilla McCarvill, daughter of
