PBISCILLA MACDONALD The resident of Village Green. lGrand River and surrounding dis- tricts were shocked saddened "M", when they learned 0 the sudden 1 passing of Mrs. Priscilla MacDon-g "aid at the Charlottetown Hospital. lin the early hours of Sept. 3th..i 1956. Mrs. Sebaslan MacDonald, nee" Priscilla Ann, daughter of the latel John H. Praught and Catherine. Baron Praught was born In Grand 5 River March 12th 1878. At an ear- ly age she went to the USA. and in Connecticut, she married Jam- es Maclnnis. Grand River. but was widowed. marriage her only child Addie was born. She and her infant daughta accompanied the remains to Grand River when they were laid to rest. About seven years later she mar- ried Sebastian MacDonald, Grand River. but was widowed again a- bout five years later. She remain- ed for the greater part of her life at Grand River. making frequent trips to the U.S.A. Five years ago she suffered the loss of her eyesight and was com- pelled to sell her property and came to live with her daughter Addie and son-in-law. Edwin Duf- fy, Village Green. but she always retained the highest degree of al- fectlon and appreciation for Grand River and had shortly returned from her annual visit where she renewed old acquaintances and bonds of affection she little thought for the last time. Althought handi- capped by blindness for the past five years she accepted this cross as Gods Holy Will. Who doth all things for the usefulness and con- sideration for those who so loving- ly cared for her. She attended a wedding reception of a neighbour Monday night, where to her own enjoyment and the entertainment of guests she rendered vocal sel-l ectlons and also gave a demonstra- tion in old time wnltsing. The next morning Addie took her as she theli expected for a short visit with friends in Hermitage but had scarecely returned borne when she received word her mother had taken suddenly sick. Addie and her husband rushed to their mothers side and immediately conveyed her to the Charlottetown Hospital where she received immediate medical attention and the last At first she seemed to improve and was able to converse with her dough who remained by her bed side. but in the early hours of Sept. 26th while Rev. Allstin.MacDonald and Rev. Reginald Phelan were each offering the holy Sacrifices of the mass for her spiritual and temporal welfare she passed peace- fully to her eternal reward. Bles- sed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth they shall rest from there labors. The remains were taken to the Charlottetown Funeral H o in e, where they were transferred to the home of her nephew Alden Plestid. Grand River. from when! the funeral was held Sept. 20th. Solemn Requiem Mass was of- fered by the pastor, Rev. Pius Mao Donald as Deacon and Rev. IAIF nard MacDonald as Sub Deacon. The vestments cm on each oc- casion being I c tribution of Mrs. MacDonald in memory of her late husband who predeceased her 37 years ago. Rev. Urban Glllis P.P.
