The funeral, from St. Peters Church. Alberton, Tuesday afternoon, was conducted by Rev. J. R. McMahon. Hymns sung were "Rock of Ages" and "Oh God of Bethel." Pall bearers were: Messrs. J. W. He is a graduate of Prince . of Wales College in Charlottetown and has been attending Dalhousic University in Halifax. He is an active worker in the United Church Young People's Union. The road has now been paved from Springfield to O ary, a distance of seven.miles. It has now a fine surface. It has been paved to the O'Leai'y United Church. and it is understood will be paved to the O'Lesry Roman Catholic Church, which is only a short distance beyond the United Church. This is much appreciated by the member of the churches. -A number of civic-minded cit.- lzens of 0'Leary are working to have a Federal Building erected in O'Leary. A fine site, in a cen- tral section. is readily available. It would house an office for the Fish- eries Department, an office for a R.C.M.P.. another office for the Public Health Nurse. and a Post Office. Sterling MacFarlana at a dinner meeting at Robson's Restaurant. Dr. MacFarlane whose home is in Fredericton, N.B.. is a past president of the Rotary Club in that city and has been in Rotary for more than twenty five years. Screech of Siren Scares Wild Duck OTTAWA, Sept. 4 -- (CP) - The screech of a two-ton monster siren is scaring the dlckens out of the prairie wild duck. just as the scientists predicted. The Resources Department Jub- llantly announced today that with the use of the powerful siren it may have finally found a way of halting damage to western grain fields by migrating waterfowl.
