UE SPECIAL INTEHEST LONDON, March 6 (Special)-An entertaining little story of four ‘1cracksmen" who turned pirates and stole a yacht, the Snark, in order to take their booty irom Stokes Bay to Ryde, Isle of"Wigli`t,"`lias just been narrated by Major G. R. Stephens, one of the crew of the yacht during a cruise in the Solent.” With three other army officers on board the Snark put into Cowes one day, where the crew found a telegram recalling them for "general inspec- tion." They tried to make Ports- mouth, but the wind failed, and they were forced to land at Stokes Ba to "borrow" her. With their booty the four met on the beach in the small hours of the next morning, put to sea, and sailed to Ryde, where they left the yacht in charge of n boatman. When the real owners of the Snark returned to Stokes Bay they found only a dlsconcerted watchman, who _had actually helped the burglars to get afloat with their plunder. Four days later the _‘Snark was found at Ryde, where the statements of the owner were ridiculed by another boatman, who, says Maior Stephens, .___i.__ _ days selling and every one u Plum- BERLIN, March 5 (Special)-The German government’s petroleum mon- opoly scheme has received a severe blow from the Committee of the Im- posed company to live per cent and manifested its intention of making by law a low maximum_ price to re- tailers. . ~'l'he amendments to the bill, which were carried by a combination of the socialist and clerical parties, have caused the interested banks to show a disinclinatiorrto provide the neces- sary capitalitor _-the 'éitablisbment of ~»v..»A` .~\~\~.~ g . _ __ _ _ story before he became raving mad. . _ _ Sutton and Willard, musicians, left ' ' ` Denver for a trip through the mining ` camps. believing they could make _ _ _' _ _ their way as troubadors.
