LAST CALL FOR PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION ENTRIES. Any member may submit up to six (6) nature slides taken on Prince Edward Island in 1976. Spot all slides on lower left corner of front 9: mount. Place slides in an envelope bearing entrant's name, address, phone number and slide category, that is, Plant, Animal, and/or Series of 3 to 5 slides that tell a nature story. Bring slides to the March meeting or submit them to Margaret Mallett, 53 Fitzroy Street, Charlottetown before March 5th. Prizes are offered. If you take nature slides, get your entries in, then come to the April 5 meeting to see all the entries and hear the judge's comments. NATURALISTS ON THE WATCH Jan. 26/77. John Wright saw a flock of 15 robins on the U.P.E.I. Baseball Field. From 5-15 robins have been regularly sighted in the area since then. In addition, John has reported 9 Common Grackles near his home in Montague. Mrs. Wright sawlilooo snow buntings near Fredericton, P.E.I. Jan. 27/77. Harry Morris, Lewis Point, reported 18 Robins, 3 Purple Finch, Red-winged Blackbirds (2 male, 4 female) and 15 Grackles. Jan. 30/77. Ten Robins were observed at Tom Butler's, Winslow. They were pecking about on a patch of bare ground. Feb. 2/77. Mrs. Rosemary Hill, Harbour Lane, reported three Purple Finches at her feeder. Earlier she had reported that a hawk had scared her birds all away and there was not one to be seen for about two weeks. Feb. 6/77. Bruce Pigot of Mount Stewart reported seeing a very large flock of Snow Buntings in the Savage Harbour area. They were moving continually and impossible to count, but he estimated there were between 2100 and 2500.
