Eleven of our members subscribed to the Home and School magazine. |1t was passed around among the members and its fine articles were lead and appreciated by many. At our October meeting we agreed ‘to give the teachers twenty-five dollars for the purchase of maga- lzdies or any helps they cared to isclocl. It was also decided at this inieetlng to puichase a radio for ; the school. 1 When November arrived we had iecelved some splendid programme material from Prof. L A. DeWolfe_ l Truro, N. S. We followed this ma- Jterial rather closely during the ‘ year, it was especially helpful at the executive meetings, At this meeting the president reported that arrangements had been made nlth Mr. Mat-Innis, to show Na- ticiial Film Board pictures to our zvlltwl children, once a month. The above meri- llloned pantry sale made us fairly wellato-do so we decided to give the school children (225) a real treat at Christmas and to put lie used in any class room. Regard- ing the Christmas treat, it was a "l1 JOY to the president when several months later s little girl, unsolicited, said to her, "We had the nicest Christmas closing and the treat was so good." Our programme material sug- gested that Citizenship Week p; observed in January. Red 1-1 1:3 MacDonald of Indian River and Kenslnglon spoke to us on Citizen. ship. In a well constructed and $811111“? When Mr. MacKenzle had finished we felt we had.been sent to the right plgcg for our man. It was st the March meeting that plans were formulat- ed to sponser the sending or a group of children to Charlotte- town to take part in the Musical Festival. Rev. L. M. Murray hav- ins assumed the responslbilitywf training this young talent. 1H April we sponsored a picture. "East Side of Heaven". This took a great deal of time and patience on the part of Mr. Pldgeon, who deflt generously with us. The de- baters thet entertained us in Feb- ruary. were our guests at this wholesome and amusing picture. In spite of house-cleaning and spring lever we were as busy as beavers in May. Our group of children. that Mr. Murray had so diligently trained had to be trans- vorted to Charlottetown. Mrs. grookins, Miss Geraldine Mac- .'.ean. Mr. O. B. Darraoh and Mrs. Naues were the committee that arranged for ‘this red letter day. We were privileged to have with Ius in May, "The Prince Edward Players of Charlottetown". After ‘the play the csst and their friends were entertained at the home of 'Mr. and Mrs. Kler Clarke. At our June meeting Mrs. How- iard, our treasurer, was instructed ‘to give the teachers the amount rof money voted for school prizes. ‘In August it was Mrs. Howard's l pleasure to present to Miss Aud- rey Profit ‘the prize of $10.00 for making the highest marks in the - Prince of Wales examinations. It was at this meeting that plans were set in motion to send s group of our women to Backvllle, to the National Conventl of Home and "u; .Bchool. in August. I will not dwell upon this event, as it has recently been splendidly dealt with by Mrs. Pendergsst and is, no doubt. fresh in your minds.
