The ceremony was organized by students in the program. And distinguished guests, suchas: George Proud, MP; Chester Gillan, Minister ofEducation; Derek Gee, Director General; and President Elizabeth Epperly were invited to partakein the celebration. The opening consisted of a professional presentation about the Internship Program, and speeches from several of the guests, including Shani Pearson, President-Elect ofthe Canadian Association for Cooperative Education. Each ofthe speeches indicated the success of the program, and the importance oftheprogramto UPEI’s School of Business. President Epperly emphasized that this is UPEI’s first Internship program, but not its last, hinting that other areas of the university may benefit from Cooperative Education.
