Enumerated in the advt. are many excellent and use- ful articles which will no doubt attract a large crowd to the sale, which starts at 12 u'clock noon. APPLE MARKET.-The prospects for the market for apples seem to be improving. The Domiiilon Govern- ment has started a campaign, the ob- ject of which is to induce Canadians to use more apples. Moreover, recent despatches from Great Britain show that there is a fair demand for first- class coloured fruit. Nova Scotia ap- ples sold last week in Glasgow at $4 to $4.50 per barrel. The United Fruit Growers of Nova Scotia shipped a cargo of Gravenstelns to Glasgow at $1.90 f. o. b. The Prairie cities report apples selling well at $4 n barrel. British Columbia is shipping quite a lot of her fruit to Australia. The Fruit Commissioner is emphasising the point that nothing but No. 1 ap- ples should be offered this year as the market is so limited. To put any- thing else oii the market would be a bad advertiscmeiit and would not ln- diice the consunior to increase his de- mand.
