The annual meeting of the Dominion Rifle Association was held at Ottawa, on the 7th inst. A vote of thanks was tender- ed to the Governor-General and Princess Louise for the prizes they had offered and the interest His Excellency had evinedd in the success of the Association. He would again appeal to institutions and other corpo- rations to assist in swelling the prize list, and expressed the belief that every father and mother in the Dominion, as a duty to the State, should contribute their mite towards successfully carrying out the objects of the Association, He made a complimentary reference to the military schools and colleges of the Dominion, and pointed out their usefulness in teaching men to lead the forces should an emergency arise. It was decided that all parties ‘con- tributing less than $40 or more than #5 to the prize list shall be entitled to mem ber- ship during the year the contribution 1s made.
