ONOTNY OIX SAYS- . - u continued from page I ical man should be sought and his advice taken. If he finds ade- quate foundation for your trouble, and supplies your husband with all details. a better understanding should be achieved all around. Don't expect indiscriminate suffering to elicit sympathy from your husband; it won't! A genuine, scientifically labeled ailment probably will! DEAR. DOROTHY DIX: My boy friend Allen is moving abolit forty miles away from here. We have been going steady for a year. I told him that when he moves I will not even think of going with any other boy. and I don't want him to go with other girls. either. My friends think I'm silly to tell him that. Every time I think of all the fun we've had together, it makes me cry. I am goin to miss him terribly, even though we will write to each other. I re ly think his moving will upset my examination marks. He is 17, I am 16. MARGUERITE ANSWER: Your grief at losing a good friend is readily under- standable. but you are making altogether too great a tragedy over it. Forty miles isn't such a terrific distance and after all you're not liv- log in the dark ages. Mail service is very reliable, and a telephone call over that short distance isn't too expensive. ' After Allen has been away for a while, you'll find new interest in other boys-though at the moment I know you think me quite heartless to suggest such an eventuality. Sixteen is much too young to face a ruined life over forty miles. Whatever happens. Marguerite, S "My Heart's In The island'.' ' DEAR MISS DIX: I am 15 and very fondlof a. certain boy: The only objection to him is that he's four inches shorter than I. Do you think I should go out with him anyway? . MICKEY ANSWER: if you like him enough. you'll overlook the difference in height-as apparently he is willing to do. Remember, too, at his age he has lots of time to grow and will quite probably bridge the tour-inch grip before long. The advance payment this year is not large, and because it is not comparable with prices being paid by competitive interests the advance may seem disappointing. Keep in mind. however. that the advance is only a portion or the full msrketvalue. The full value, which may be higher than present quotations, will reach you later. Figures recently issued through the Co-operative Union of Canada. show clearly the benefits of selling through your own Association. In the last 32 years the overall prices paid through Co-operative marketing: were higher than the average net term price in Canada for shorn wool in all but four years, and averaged 3.41 cents per pound for this period more than the open market price. In some years the Co-operative price reached as high as 9 cents per pound over the open price, and usually the spread was higher in years when wool ranged at low prices. In addition this difference did not include patronage dividends which amounted in 1951 to 4 cents per pound and in 1950 to 5 cents per pound; Sheep breeders, market your wool through your own Association. and secure top market prices.
