She was 3. member of Margate United Church ' and a fatifhtful member of the W. M. Sociey and other church or- ganizations. Active in Women's Institute work. first as a charter member of Irishtotum W. I. and later with the Mai-gate group. Of a quiet and unpssumlng disposi- tion she was greatly beloved by all who know her. Her cheerful manner won for her a host of friends. Her home was warm with graci- ous hospitality. Deeply devoted to her family and a loyal friend and neighbor. A capacity for friendship surrounded her with 3 t wide circle of friends who mourn her passing. Her funeral was held on March 16 and was con- ducted by-her pastor, Rev. S. H. liasla-m. A prayer at the home was followed by service in.Mai'- ga-te United Ohurch. Notwith- standing inclement weather and almost impassable road conditions the church was filled with sym- patiuizing friends who came pay a final triibutc of respect. Mr. Haslam based his reunarks on the words "We brought nothing into this world. and it 15 certain we can take nothing out". The hymns sung were: ”Thc Lord's My Shep- herd" and "Peace Perfect Peace." Messrs. Andrew Johnstone and Ernest Dunning sang with feeling "Going Down The Valley." The pall bearers were nephews of the deceased: Edison Heaney. Willia.m Heaney. Keir. ,, Although the deceased had been in failing health for some time, and was confined to his bed for nearly two years, his death came as a shock to his family and friends. He bore all his illness patiently without any word of complaint. tThe late Mr. Keir was born in South Granville on April 7, 1863. ber of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Keir (nee Cather- ine Falconer). He was a member of the South Granville Presbyterian Church, and for over a period of 2) years he acted as precentor at all the ser- vices. On Dec. 15. um, he married Emma Wilson of Hampton. P. E.
