A call was put in to the Surnmeraide Fire Department and several of the firernen were called who took out the pumper and with the help of neighbors cceeded in getting it extinguished. , . The fire originated from the fireplace in the living room and having spread inside the walls was difficult to fight. Several holes had to be cut in floor: and ceilings to get at the .e-blaze. There might have been disastrous consequences as two children were sleeping in the room next to the living room and it was the cries of one of them which awakened Mr. and Mrs. Woodside. When Mrs. Woodside came to attend to it she. found the room filled Wllih smoke and it was with some difficulty that she reached them and removed them to another part of the house.-S.
