' .\ LliER'I`(`iN -Mr James Tuplin, Illack Banks. the well-known fancy skater, was in Alperton on Tuesday and remained for the hockey match between the Athletes and the Regals.-A. -WHIST PARTY.-Ono of the most enjoyable events of the season took place at the home ot' Mr and Mrs George Wallace, Alma, on Friday the 5th, when they entertained a number of' invited guests at a whist drive and dance. The first part of the evening was very pleasantly spent in a game of whist, which was made more inter- esting hy extretricly good play and keen ifonipetitioii. The highest score was made by Bliss Josie Gaudet, who was ncvnriiiiigiy awarded thc prize. This was it large box of candy, which for quality was second to none. The visitors were then treated to an appe- tisiiig lunch, which gave them re- newed vigour.
