The late Mr. Doyle was born in Tignish, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Doyle. O'Leary Lady Dies At 90 Miss Annie Gordon passed away in O'Leary Friday morning. She was born at "Huntley" near Al- berton ninety years ago, a daugh- ter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gordon. and was the last surviving member of her generation in the Gordon family. She lived at home until the death of her mother for whom she cared during years of illness. Al- most forty years ago she went to Worcester. Mass. where she gave devoted service as nurse-compan- ion in one family for close to twenty years. When she retired she came home to her native province and took up residence in Summer- slde. Since an accident eight years ago she has been unable to walk and the past few years have been spent near her childhood home at Alberton. For the past five weeks she has been resident in o'Leary Miss Gordon was a sincere Christian and a long-time member of the Presbyterian Church. A niece of the Gordon Martyrs of Erromanga. she was justly proud of her heritage and had a deep and abiding interest in the work of Christ's kingdom. . She had a gentle, friendly dis- position and her great love for little children never failed to find a response in their hearts. Immediate relatives on Prince Edward Island are two nieces, Mrs. Kenneth Campbell of O'Leary and Mrs. ac. Green of Alberton; a nephew. Mr. William Philllipa of Arlington. Lot 14; and a sister- - law. Mrs. I-I.J. Gordon of Char- lottetown. The funeral will be at Alberton Mondly afternoon from the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Green to the Presbyterian Church for ser- vice at two o'clock. Her body will be laid to rest in the family plot in the old Dock Cemetery. It is a fine building and 011 equipped and we can look forward for many years in which it Wm play an important part in the sporting and athletic life of the town. The citizens have longed for this rink with artificial ice for many years and it is at long last a reality. The new auditorium. which I would like to see named Civic Cultural Center will prove to be of great value to the community. The various activities that can be carr- ied out by different community Ernups in this building will, I am sure, amaze many people. Op- Portunities will be there for drama, musical presentations, ath- letic events, study sessions, meet- ings and a host of other activities. In the daytime it can be used for the benefit of the 2.000 children who attend the schools of the town. There has long been a need for a gymnasium and this need will be satisfied when this build- ing is completed.
