April 20th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Silllker, Mt. Royal, when friends and neighbors gathered in honour of Mrs. Silllker's mother. Mrs. Donald Buchanan, who on that day, celebrated her 94th birthday anniversary. Aunt Flora. as she is more fa- miliarly known, still retains an unusual measure of excellent health, and is still able to help about the house if necessary. The honored guest was the re- cipient of many beautiful gifts, al- so a bouquet of flowers from the Milburn Women's lrlstilute. She also received several telegrams including one from her daughter, Annie. in Scotland and sons in Toronto. Another sister, Mrs. Bruce Hayes, is living in Vancou- ver. The honoree was presented with a beautifully trimmed birth- day cake made by her daughter- in-law, Mrs. Martin Buchanan. Music and singing and social chat whiled away the evening af- ter which all sat down to a dainty lunch of ice cream and cake. Among the guests were her grandson and lllS wife, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Buchanan of West- em Canada. who left recently for his home there, after visiting with his parents. Mr and Mrs. Robert Buchanan. in Mt. Royal. also there were other l'PlallVES and friends. All departed to their homes leaving this clear old lady with an abundance of aood wishes and the return of another happy birth- day next year. THE GUARDIAN. Farewell Y.P.U.
