The fire, which is supposed t0 have started from n. , defective flue, was discovered on the upper floor where the tobacco factory of Messrs. Hooper and Mahar is located. A family also liv- ed in the rear of th_e lower floor. The building was dry and the lire spread rapidly, but the firemen after some fight, soon‘ extinguish- ed the blaze; the building is much gutted.
