There are certain amounts still due and to be paid on the New Building amount- ing to over $600 and a disputed claim- of $65. This sum of $600 added to the short- age in the Building account, viz: $259.81 shows say $900 still required oii the new building. Towards discharging this $900 two gentlemen of this city, who have al- ready made large donations to the new building had generously promised afur- her subscri tion of $950 each provided b .1 the balance oif $400 is made up by the lst day of July next otherwise their offer will lapse. The Trustees have as yet had no offer for the old Hospitalpremises although they are anxious to dispose of it at a reasonable price. _ g nse seems to have' The number of nurses at present in the Hospital including the Matron iseight, three of them being prcbationers. Miss Mary E. Gordon has undertaken the duties ofStewai-dess and Housekeeper thereby relieving the Matron of much of her onerous duties. Your Trustees believing that in the New P. E. I. Hospital this Island has an insti- tution up-to-date and as well equipp- ed as any in these Provinces, the running expenses of which must be large, in fact shows, thai there will be a. large increase of expend' ure compared with the old Hospital, arising from more extensive ae- commodatiommore perfect heating,venti1a- _tion and- arrangements, requir- ing more fuel, more wages, insurance, and other outlays, they therefore reasonably expect and do earnestly solicit _the gener- ous support of the public at large, both Town and Country for its proper support and maintenance. ,The Trustees beg to thank all who have so generously assisted in this good work and again to thank the Ladies’ Aid Society for their valuable co-operation. Also the \M edical Staff for their valuable services, and the collectors, :is also the Clergyinen of the various denominations throughout the Island for the kind interest they have taken in the Institution.
