Last Friday the body of Joseph
O’Koode, Campbellton, N. B., who
was drowned from Miller’e tug, was
found by the tug William Aitken of
Charlottetown between Point la
Garde and Oak Bay Point. The cor-
oner Dr. Martin summoned a jury
and held an inquest. on Saturday in
the Lacasae building. The proceedings
were very brief. The jury viewed the
body and brought in a verdict of
'Accidental Death.”

The death occurred on Monday,
Aug. 5th, in the Massachusetts Gen-
trul Hospital, Boston, of John Mc-
Leod, at the early age of twenty-
tlircc, alter a short illness of only
nine days of balerla menengltie. The
funeral service was held on Thurs-
day, the Bth Aug., at his home in
North Cambridge, and was conducted
by Rev. Mr. Tilton. Hia favorite
hymns, Will the Circle be Unbroken,
and Asleep in Jesus, were eung after
the service, the remains left for
Boston, thence for Hunter River, P,
E. I., accompanied -by his wife, moth-
1-rand brother Alexander. The de-
ceased, who was iamtliarly called
Jack., had a bright, cheerful manner,
which made for him- many warm
friends. As an affectionate husband
ho endeared himself so that the lov-
ing touch of n vanished hand and the
sound of a voice that is still will
long be remembered. The funeral
took place at the home of his aunt,
Mrs. Mclnnia. He was laid to rent
beside his sister in Hnrtevllle Ceme-
tery. Thc. funeral was very 'largely
attended, the service being conducted
'by the Rev. Mri Gillis. Besides 5
eorrowing widow, he icavea a mother
and father, four sisters and five
brothers to mourn the loss of a dear-
ly beloved husband, son and brother.
