OLDER REPORTS: AMcC reported a Northern Cardinal at Basin Head in 1999 (via RPh). PJ reported the following sightings at East Point Sept. 19 - 25, 1999: hundreds of Northern Gannet, 75 Greater Shearwater; Common Eider; all three Scoter; immature Goshawk; immature Red-tailed Hawk; 2 Merlin patrolling over the sea to catch passerines approaching the shore at East Point (Savannah, Song, White-throated Sparrow, Dark-eyed Junco, and Common Yellowthroat); 2nd winter Glaucous Gull; l Red-necked Grebe; adult Black-legged Kittiwake; an immature Peregrine Falcon; Red-necked Phalarope; 2 Semi-pahnated Sandpipers; a Baird's Sandpiper; 50 Bonaparte's Gull; a juvenile plumage Sabine's Gull; walking tours revealed Savannah, Song, White-throated Sparrows, Dark-eyed Juncos, Blue Jays, Golden-crowned Kinglets, a few Lincoln's and Swamp Sparrows, 2 Baltimore Orioles, a flock of Yellow—rumped and Blackpoll Warblers with a Magnolia and a Black-throated Green; 5 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers; 2 Sharp-shinned Hawk; a Short-cared Owl; a Cliff Swallow; 2 adult Black-legged Kittiwake PJ also reported a Black-headed Gull adult at Souris ferry dock. 200 Cedar Waxwing at Charlottetown in two berry trees on Blythe Cres. in Nov.
