JTRIBUTE T0 A FRIEND- I-lls many friends will sincerely regret to learn oi’ the passing of Mr. William Garrick at his home in Montague on Monday night. Although Mr. Garrick had been ill for the past year following a severe illness, his untimely pass- ing came as a shock to his friends who knew “Bill" so well. Even on Monday afternoon and evening he had talked with many of his friends on the lawn and, as usual, was in a happy frame of mind. Toward the latter part of the evening. however, he felt some- what ill. and was immediately re- moved to the house where he shortly passed away. A well- known ball player in his youth. "Bill" remained actively interest- ed in all athletic sports through- out his life, coaching the Mont- ague Primroses in their golden days of hockey supremacy. The youngsters also benefltted from his vast experience, and many a youth today will remember the timely advice from one who knew how to play the game. not only of sport, but also of life.
