IN, MEMORIAM PRESTON LOWELL BOSE The accidental drowning of Preston Lowell Rose on Sunday, August 29, 1954, brought sad and shocking news to his family and friends. The death occurred in Burlington, Ontario. Although he was only twenty years of age he had won a host of friends. and achieved a position of considerable importance in the company where he had been em- ployed for the past three years. The remains were forwarded to the home of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Rose, East Baltic, and were accompanied by Robert Rose and Stirling Robertson, who are employed in Ontario. Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon, September 4. After a short service at the house the cortegc moved to the Baptist Church in Kiiigsboro. The services were conduced by Rev. Donald Mccire, and were attended by a large number of friends. The hymns "0 Safe to the Rock". "What a Frieml", and "My Faith Looks Up" were sung at the church, and "Blessed Assurance" at the graveside. Six flower bearers provided an rscort of honor. These were: Ira Stewart, MEl.ll'iC6 Bruce. Callum MacLean, John Robertson. Arthur Robertson and Stanley Coffin. The .Pall bearers were Robert Rose. Alvin Rose. Wuldron Rose. Elwood Ching, Stirling Robertson and Ross (Johnny) Young. Interment was in the South Lake Cemetery. Besides his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Rose.'he is survived by two sisters. Fhyllis (Mrs Gordon Robertson). WHITEWAY The death occurred in the King's County Hospital. on Sunday, Sep- tember 26, of Mrs. G e o r g e B. Whlteway of Dover. aged 80 years, following a lengthy illness. Though long: days and night of weakness and at times severe suffering she proved herself a staunch example of resignation and Christian forti- tude. not only to the visitors who came to her bedside but to the doctors and nurses who were in attendance. The late Mrs. Whiteway was born in Dover. the daughter of the late Matthew and Mary Jane MacLure. She will be rememb red particularly for her loyalty an de- votlon to her family and friends. Mrs. Whiteway leaves to mourn besides her sorrowing husband. four sons. two daughter. and two grandchildren. The sons are Fred. David and Freeman at home and Robert in the R. C. A. F., Clinton.
